Easy Peasy Chocolate Brownies

Nothing says I love you quite like a warm batch of brownies, whether you plan on spending time with a loved one or binge watching Friends, brownies are never a bad idea right?



These are the perfect quick and easy treat to make for Valentine's day. I've been making them for years but to spice things up this time I added melted chocolate to the mix and did a cream cheese swirl for the top. You can't not love these brownies! Now excuse me while I go search the kitchen for a left over one.

EASY PEASY CHOCOLATE BROWNIES

Ingriedents
250 g butter
1/2 cup + 2 tablespoons cocoa powder, sifted
2 cups sugar
4 eggs
1 tsp vanilla extract 
Pinch of salt
1 ½ cup flour, sifted
60 g milk chocolate, melted

1/3 cup cream cheese

METHOD

1. Preheat oven to 170* degrees celsius. Grease a square baking tin.

2. Melt butter in a pot over medium heat. Add cocoa powder and mix in, add the sugar, making sure to mix well. And then stir in the melted chocolate.

3. Mix the eggs in a separate bowl and add them to the mixture. And then stir in the vanilla extract. Lastly add in the flour and salt, fold in gently.

4. Pour the brownie mixture into the prepared baking tin. 

5. Beat the cream cheese with a handheld mixer. Once smooth place in a piping bag with a medium size round nozzle. Pipe in criss cross lines on the brownie mixture. Using a tooth pick make swirls and patterns in the cream cheese.

6. Bake for 25 - 30 minutes. Use a cake tester to see it comes out clean. Allow to cool and then cut into squares.
