Homemade Muesli

Cereal was always more like a treat in our house, so muesli and yogurt were a staple breakfast for us. We used to just buy the store muesli but once we realized how much sugar they actually put in the stuff, my mom decided to start making her own. It's taken some time to get the right recipe. But I think we've finally got it right. If you're looking for a healthy alternative for breakfast time, this recipe should do the trick.



500g rolled oats
4tbps coconut oil
1 cup bran
3/4 cup desiccated coconut
1 cup almonds
100ml linseed
100ml sunflower seeds
50ml raisins
4tbps honey

1.Preheat oven 140* degrees. 

2. Place rolled oats, bran, desiccated coconut and almonds into a baking tray. 

3. Melt coconut oil and honey together and pour over dry mixture. Give it a good stir. Bake for 30 to 40 minutes. Stirring every 10 minutes. 

4. Once its toasted remove from the oven and throw in the linseed, sunflower seeds and raisins, give it a good mix. Allow to cool before storing in a airtight container.
